Technology and Quality Upgradation Support to MSMEs

Organisation

National Manufacturing Competitiveness Programme (NMCP)

Objective

The first objective of the present Scheme is to sensitize the manufacturing MSME sector in India to the use of energy efficient technologies and manufacturing processes so as to reduce cost of production and the emissions of GHGs. The second objective will be to improve the product quality of MSMEs and to encourage them towards becoming globally competitive. In spite of their diverse manufacturing capability and low manufacturing costs, the products of the Indian MSMEs could not move up the value chain in the global market basically due to the concerns about their quality.

Eligibility

Will depend on the nature of the Major activities mentioned in the Scheme.

Major Activities:

i. Capacity Building of MSME Clusters for Energy Efficiency/Clean Development Interventions and other technologies mandated as per the global standards.

ii. Implementation of Energy Efficient Technologies (EET) in MSME units.
