Mistakes are frequently made when going by an assumption that could be far off the mark. Below are a series of assumptions typically made by Indian SMEs embarking in export business. TEDO provides some tips and suggestions related to these assumptions.

Cheapest is common thinking amongst SMEs in our country that they manufacture and offer all their products at the cheapest price.

The SMEs determine the importance of the inquiries by the style of the corporate letterhead on which they receive the query or the flash being run on the website of the prospective buyer.

Scattering our marketing efforts over an area and hoping that we hit somebody along the way is a very frequent occurence amongst our SMEs. This kind of approach is easy to implement but harldly as successful as when you research your clients better and hit on target with a riffle.

Most SMEs claim to fulfil all the requirements of all customers with their product(s). It is in fact very difficult to be everything to everyone and moreover it is a huge drain on resources.
