CII catalyses change by working closely with government on policy issues, enhancing efficiency, competitiveness and expanding business opportunities for industry through a range of specialised services and global linkages. It also provides a platform for sectoral consensus building and networking. Major emphasis is laid on projecting a positive image of business, assisting industry to identify and execute corporate citizenship programmes. Partnerships with over 120 NGOs across the country carry forward our initiatives in integrated and inclusive development, which include health, education, livelihood, diversity management, skill development and environment, to name a few.

CII has taken up the agenda of “Business for Livelihood” for the year 2010-11. Businesses are part of civil society and creating livelihoods is the best act of corporate social responsibility. Looking ahead, the focus for 2010-11 would be on the four key Enablers for Sustainable Enterprises: Education, Employability, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centers (APTDC)

Technology has become an essential tool for achieving competitiveness for the industry in today's business environment. Small & Medium scale Enterprises (SMEs) can hardly afford their own individual R&D and therefore, it is necessary to nurture and support SMEs by way of technological upgradation. In the present day scenario, where technological specialization has become complex and our industrial sector is not technologically strong, it is cost effective as well as time-saving for SMEs to make use of Networked Institutional Assistance rather than undertake in-house development of technologies. Such networking has become necessary in the present day because modern products and services have several multi-disciplinary technological inputs.

By analyzing the technology upgradation needs in the State as a whole, Andhra Pradesh Technology Development & Promotion Centre (APTDC) is established under the joint participation of the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Technology Information, Forecasting & Assessment Council (TIFAC- an autonomous society under the Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India).

Mission APTDC to help industry in the state to become globally competitive by hand-holding industry and entrepreneurs on their multi-disciplinary and cross-functional technology needs by facilitating time & cost effective solutions through networking with Institutions.

Vision APTDC to be the prime mover in State's Sustainable Development - in terms of state becoming investment destination, State's industry becoming globally competitive, State's society becoming benefited through technology intervention.
